According to previously published bibliography, around 240 species have been registered in the international hydrographic Minho River basin, belonging to 3 phyla from the Kingdom Plantae:

Bryophyta: non-vascular land plants, known as mosses.

Marchantiophyta: non-vascular land plants, known as liverworts, with a mostly haploid life cycle.

Tracheophyta: vascular land plants, which include 2 major groups:

Seedless plants (previously known as pteridophytes);

Plants with seeds (previously known as spermatophytes), including those with flowers ("angiosperms") and those without ones ("gymnosperms").
